We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Manager to lead a Family Safeguarding / Adolescent Team supporting children, young people, and families through safeguarding and intervention services.

This role focuses on managing and developing a geographically based safeguarding team, promoting strengths-based and motivational practice, and ensuring children and young people are safeguarded and supported effectively.

The successful candidate will provide leadership, supervision, and operational oversight while working collaboratively with partner agencies to deliver high-quality services and positive outcomes for children and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a Family Safeguarding / Adolescent Team
  • Provide professional supervision, guidance, and support to practitioners
  • Allocate and oversee workloads to ensure cases are managed safely and effectively
  • Support safeguarding investigations, assessments, and intervention planning
  • Promote strengths-based and motivational practice approaches
  • Ensure compliance with statutory guidance, policy, and safeguarding legislation
  • Support reflective supervision and professional development within the team
  • Work collaboratively with legal services, courts, and partner agencies
  • Monitor service quality, performance, and operational effectiveness
  • Maintain high standards of case recording, assessments, and documentation
  • Promote the voice, wishes, and feelings of children and families throughout practice

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with relevant registration
  • Substantial experience working with children and families within a UK statutory setting
  • Experience supervising or managing practitioners within Children’s Services
  • Strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge
  • Experience within Family Safeguarding or Adolescent Services
  • Strong leadership, communication, and partnership working skills
  • Ability to manage complex and challenging situations effectively
  • Experience promoting reflective and evidence-informed practice
  • Enhanced DBS required
  • Ability to travel across the county where required
