Social Worker – Family Help Service

Location: Dudley
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 Days On Site
Pay Rate: £41.00 per hour

We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join a developing Family Help Service supporting children and families through targeted early help and safeguarding interventions.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a restorative and relationship-based service focused on helping families stay together and achieve long-term positive outcomes.

The service works closely with families using family-led decision-making strategies and motivational interviewing approaches to provide meaningful and lasting support.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload within Family Help and Safeguarding
• Complete single assessments and co-ordinated support plans
• Work with Child Protection plans, pre-proceedings, and care proceedings
• Support families using restorative and relationship-based practice
• Work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals and partner services
• Promote permanency planning and positive family outcomes
• Undertake direct work with children, young people, and families
• Maintain accurate records and deliver high-quality statutory social work practice

About the Service

The Family Help Service operates using the Family Safeguarding Model, working alongside:

• Child Practitioners
• Drug & Alcohol Practitioners
• Probation Officers
• Domestic Abuse Workers
• Mental Health Practitioners

Teams work closely with local Family Hubs to provide early intervention and targeted support within the community.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years cumulative permanent experience within an English Local Authority (including ASYE)
• SWE Registered
• Strong experience within frontline safeguarding and family support
• Experience managing Child Protection and court work
• Strong multi-agency and partnership working skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
