We are seeking experienced and motivated Social Workers to join Children’s Services supporting children, young people, and families through safeguarding, assessment, and long-term care planning.

This role focuses on delivering high-quality, relationship-based social work practice, working collaboratively with families to promote positive change and improve outcomes for children and young people.

The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload within frontline safeguarding services while working alongside partner agencies and multi-disciplinary professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Children & Families caseloads within safeguarding and assessment services
  • Undertake strengths-based assessments and develop SMART support plans
  • Complete Child in Need, Child Protection, and court-related work
  • Conduct safeguarding investigations and risk assessments
  • Work collaboratively with children, families, carers, and partner agencies
  • Promote motivational and relationship-based social work practice
  • Support permanency planning and positive outcomes for children in care
  • Maintain accurate case records, reports, and documentation
  • Attend multi-agency meetings, core groups, and court proceedings where required
  • Ensure the views, wishes, and feelings of children and young people are central to practice

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with relevant registration
  • Substantial experience working with children and families within a UK statutory setting
  • Strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge
  • Experience completing assessments and direct work with children and families
  • Knowledge of UK childcare legislation and Working Together guidance
  • Strong communication, assessment, and partnership working skills
  • Ability to manage complex and challenging situations effectively
  • Enhanced DBS required
  • Ability to travel across the county where required
