Short Breaks Coordinator – Disabled Children’s Services

We are seeking an experienced Short Breaks Coordinator to support the strategic and operational delivery of short breaks services for disabled children and young people.

This role involves overseeing contract monitoring, service development, financial management, and parent participation to ensure high-quality and accessible short break provision across the borough.

The successful candidate will work closely with families, partner agencies, providers, and stakeholders to support positive outcomes for disabled children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage the performance of short breaks services
• Lead on contract management and compliance monitoring
• Support the strategic development of short breaks provision
• Manage and support front-line short breaks staff
• Monitor budgets, financial commitments, and service performance
• Work closely with families, parent forums, and partner agencies
• Produce reports relating to service performance and outcomes
• Support service user involvement and parent participation initiatives
• Maintain strong working relationships with health, education, and social care partners
• Promote equality, diversity, and inclusive practice throughout the service

Requirements

• Experience working within services for disabled children and young people
• Experience within contract management or service monitoring
• Strong project management and organisational skills
• Experience producing reports and analysing performance data
• Experience working within education, healthcare, or social care settings
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Good understanding of commissioning and service development
• Enhanced DBS required
