Hours: Full-time with on-call responsibilities
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead the setup and day-to-day management of a new 2-bed children’s residential home supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
This role will oversee Ofsted registration, safeguarding, staff leadership, and the delivery of high-quality, therapeutic care. You will create a safe, nurturing environment where young people can recover from trauma and achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the operation and management of the children’s home
- Oversee safeguarding, care planning, and risk management
- Ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted standards
- Manage staffing, rotas, budgets, and resources
- Promote therapeutic approaches including PACE
- Support young people’s education, wellbeing, and development
- Maintain accurate records, reporting, and quality assurance
- Build relationships with families, local authorities, and professionals
- Recruit, supervise, and develop staff teams
- Lead the home through registration and ongoing inspection processes
Requirements
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare
- Previous Registered Manager experience with Good or Outstanding Ofsted history
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and children’s home regulations
- Experience commissioning or opening new homes (desirable)
- Ability to lead teams and deliver high-quality care
