Child Protection Social Worker

Pay Rate: £42.00 per hour

We are seeking an experienced Child Protection Social Worker to join a well-structured and supportive Children’s Services team in East Dorset.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a fast-paced multi-agency environment supporting children and families through Child in Need, Child Protection, pre-proceedings, and court proceedings.

The team offers flexible working, regular supervision, and a supportive management structure.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage complex Child in Need and Child Protection cases
• Undertake assessments in line with statutory responsibilities and legislation
• Develop and review care and support plans
• Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people
• Prepare reports for court proceedings and professional meetings
• Attend court and provide evidence where required
• Chair multi-agency meetings and reviews
• Undertake direct work with children and families
• Maintain accurate case records and documentation
• Work collaboratively with partner agencies and professionals

Requirements

• Degree in Social Work (or equivalent)
• SWE Registered
• Minimum 3 years post-qualified experience within an English Local Authority
• Experience within Child Protection and court work
• Enhanced DBS (can be obtained)
• Eligibility to work in the UK
• Ability to meet travel requirements of the role
